Expedient is seeking a dynamic Director of Market Development to drive our growth through strategic leading and relationship building in western Pennsylvania. As one of the primary faces of our organization in the market, you'll play a pivotal role in opening doors to new prospects, expanding our client base, and establishing Expedient as the partner of choice in our industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Pipeline Development
  • Identify, qualify, and cultivate new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, strategic partner development and market research
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients aligned with company growth objectives
  • Develop and execute strategic prospecting plans targeting key accounts and market segments
  • Leverage industry events, conferences, and your professional networks to generate qualified leads
Relationship Management & Brand Representation
  • Serve as one of the primary ambassadors for Expedient, representing our brand values and capabilities in the marketplace
  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers, C-suite executives, and key stakeholders
  • Conduct initial discovery meetings to understand prospect needs and articulate how Expedient delivers value
  • Maintain consistent communication with prospects throughout the sales cycle
Strategic Market Engagement
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and outreach strategies
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to inform you on competitive positioning, product development and service offerings
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and speaking engagements to elevate brand visibility
Sales Collaboration
  • Partner with sales professionals to provide introductions and to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified leads
  • Contribute to proposal development and presentation efforts for strategic opportunities, as needed
  • Track and report on lead generation activities, conversion metrics, and pipeline health on a weekly basis
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align business development initiatives with company goals
Qualifications:
Required
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role with demonstrated success in lead generation and pipeline development
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Strong executive presence and confidence representing an organization at all levels
  • Established network of C-Level contacts
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales productivity tools
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred
  • Experience in technology, cloud and data center services
  • Understanding of consultative selling methodologies
  • Track record of success in complex B2B sales environments
