Location: Indiana, Statewide, Home Office FMLA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Supervises: Assistant Director of Outreach

and Digital Media Manager

Job Summary: Responsible for fund development, marketing and communication projects, community relations efforts, and assisting the CEO and the Board of Directors with other administrative duties, as assigned. Member of the core executive team.



Key Areas of Accountability

  1. Fund Development

    1. Serves as a Liaison with the Board Advancement Committee

    2. Develops and implements a strategy for ongoing substantial fundraising

    3. Manages budget, logistics and coordination of fundraising activities

  2. Marketing and Communication

    1. Provides leadership and supervision for organizational efforts related to media, social media, and other communications

    2. Provides leadership for volunteers who are interested in fundraising activities

    3. Oversees projects related to the acquisition of discretionary funding and competitive community grants

    4. Supports the Business Director in structuring work assignments for the Executive Assistant

  3. Community Relations

    1. Implements the organizational brand and maintains communications through all platforms

    2. Seeks opportunities within the statewide community to build relationships to raise awareness of the organization to help advance the mission

  4. Administrative

  5. Attends and engages meaningfully in meetings, conferences, and workshops in alignment with areas of oversight

  6. Prepares and disseminates newsletters and other communications

  7. Reports data in collaboration with the administrative team for purposes such as quarterly, annual, and grant reports

Minimum Job Qualifications

  1. Education and Licensure: A post-secondary degree is required.

  2. Work Experience: Expertise in marketing, communications, volunteer coordination and leadership is required. Excellent writing, organization, communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills are required; ability to multi-task projects and deadlines; ability to manage databases and platforms.

  3. Working Conditions: Must be able to perform daily work in a variety of settings, the majority of which is virtual from a home office as well as in-person relationship-building meetings. Must have the ability to manage moderately stressful situations. Evenings, weekends, and travel are occasionally required.

  4. Training Requirements During Employment: May receive additional training. Must attend staff development meetings and in-service training
