Iowa ACEs 360 is seeking a mission-driven development professional to lead the future of our development and stewardship efforts.

The Director of Development and Stewardship is responsible for leading all development activities within the Iowa ACEs 360, serving as a key leader within the organization and external to the community. The position develops, implements, and monitors a comprehensive fundraising plan to expand philanthropic support of the organization including identifying and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders, actively pursuing and managing corporate and individual leads, and fostering strong donor and sponsor stewardship.

The role will begin as a half-time, salaried/exempt position, with the opportunity to expand. With this in mind, the initial responsibilities will primarily focus on donor stewardship, corporate relations, and development strategy.

Iowa ACEs 360 offers a hybrid, flexible work environment. This position must be physically located within the state of Iowa, with the ability to travel to Des Moines approximately once per week. Collaborative office and desk space provided in downtown Des Moines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development Strategy: Design and implement a multi-year, comprehensive fund development plan to support the long-term fiscal health and growth of the organization; report on fundraising progress and financial goals to the Executive Director and Board; ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in fundraising.
  • Donor Stewardship: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors; oversee donor communications and stewardship; and maintain a complete and accurate database record of donor relationships.
  • Corporate Relations: Work with Executive Director and Board to strengthen relationships with the corporate community; increase sponsorship and employee engagement opportunities.
  • Special Events: Coordinate special events, including the annual campaign and conference sponsorship; develop and maintain budget for fundraising events; evaluate event outcomes and implement improvements for future events.
  • Grant Cultivation: Research and identify grant opportunities; collaborate with team members to write compelling grant proposals and reports.
  • Communications: Coordinate the development and distribution of philanthropic partner and donor communications, including newsletters, social media content, impact reports and thank-you letters.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in fundraising and development.
  • Proven track record of corporate, foundation and/or donor stewardship.
  • Experience with grant writing and reporting preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship building and communications skills
  • Ability to perform high-quality work independently.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with fundraising software, CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and contemporary on-line communications techniques and systems.
  • Passion for the mission of Iowa ACEs 360.
