Job Description:

The HPE Quantum team at HPE Labs is developing new approaches for quantum computing, including integration with high performance computing. We are simultaneously solving research problems and creating structures for HPE's business offerings in this area.

Our team is seeking summer interns to help advance our work in quantum computing, contributing across areas such as quantum algorithms, tensor networks, manybody physics, and quantum software development. You will be at the forefront of efforts to turn quantum computing from a theoretical promise into a practical technology. Interns will work on developing new quantum algorithms and classical simulation techniques, improving methods for circuit decomposition and distributed quantum error correction, and building and extending software for quantum compilation, simulation, and hybrid highperformance and quantum computing workflows. This work includes contributing to opensource projects, shaping emerging standards and interfaces, and demonstrating our technologies through real applications.

We expect all our researchers (including interns and post-docs) to provide thought leadership and technical influence both internally and externally to HPE, as well as take innovative ideas and make them real - contributing along the full range from initial novel ideas to design, development, implementation, evaluation, and technology transfer. The ideal candidate can thrive in an applied research environment, balancing significant technical and scientific contributions with the ability to bring such contributions to practice through innovative solutions that address the needs of our customers and partners. We expect the successful candidate to collaborate with HPE Labs research teams as well as with external partners, and to work in alignment with HPE's broader innovation community.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, researchers, and product managers. Together, our goal is to build usable, efficient, and innovative systems that combine quantum computing and high-performance computing. Join us to be a part of a team that shapes the future of quantum computing!
