CITI Program joined the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) in 2016. BRANY was founded in 1998 and is jointly owned by four leading academic medical centers - NYU School of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, Icahn School of Medicine, and Northwell Health. BRANY is also a premier resource for research support services for hospitals, academic medical centers, and investigators, among its other ventures.

General Summary/Objective:

Support and help lead the modernization of the CITI Program LMS platform, including release engineering, cloud delivery, environment automation, and performance improvement for a mixed legacy and modern application stack. This role works closely with the development team to improve how applications are built, deployed, monitored, and scaled. The environment includes .NET applications running on IIS, a React-based learner experience, and a shared SQL Server backend. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on execution and collaboration.

Duties/Responsibilities:         

  • Own and improve release processes across Dev, Staging, and Production environments.
  • Support modern application delivery for React front-end and .NET back-end systems.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds and deployments.
  • Standardize deployment workflows, versioning, validation, and rollback procedures.
  • Assist with implementing CDN-based delivery and caching strategies.
  • Contribute to performance testing and help identify system bottlenecks.
  • Improve monitoring, logging, and operational visibility across environments.
  • Support the transition from legacy to modern architectures.
  • Help modernize Azure infrastructure and reduce reliance on manual server configuration.
  • Support the introduction of containerization (Docker) where appropriate.
  • Assist with Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, or ARM/Bicep.
  • Collaborate with development and database teams to improve SQL Server performance and reliability.
  • Participate in troubleshooting production issues and implementing long-term fixes.
  • Use and scale Git for Source Control
  • Set up monitoring and optimize feedback mechanisms.

Education required:    

Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience Required: 

3 to 6 years of DevOps, cloud, or platform engineering experience.

Qualifications:

  • Azure certification preferred, such as Azure Developer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Hands-on experience supporting .NET applications, React front-end applications, or comparable modern web application stacks.
  • Experience working in Azure or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Windows Server and IIS administration, certificate security, WAF configuration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams.
  • Experience working in a mixed legacy and modern environment preferred.

Salary/Exempt Status/Hours: 

$75,000 to $90,000/Exempt

Wage is based upon an 8-hour workday, for a total of 40 hours/week
