 Registered Nurse (RN) - Detox ProgramCanaan, CT
Full-Time | Part-Time | Per Diem | Day & Overnight Shifts Available
At Mountainside, our nurses play a critical role in helping clients safely begin their recovery journey. We're seeking compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurses to join our Detox team-professionals who are energized by meaningful work and thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Whether you're looking for full-time consistency, part-time flexibility, or per diem opportunities, we offer a range of scheduling options to fit your needs.


As a Detox Nurse, you'll provide essential medical care and monitoring to clients during one of the most critical phases of treatment. You'll conduct comprehensive assessments, administer medications, and closely monitor withdrawal symptoms-ensuring each client's safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the detox process. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of medical and clinical professionals, contributing to a highly collaborative and supportive care environment.


Schedule Options:

We offer a variety of scheduling options designed to support work-life balance, with current opportunities detailed below:

  • Full-Time (36 hours/week) - Overnights 
  • Part-Time (24 hours/week) - Weekday Overnights 
  • Per Diem (Minimum of 24 hours per month if shifts are available)
  • Day and Overnight shifts available (including 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) 

What You'll Do:

  • Complete thorough nursing assessments upon admission 
  • Safely administer medications in accordance with detox protocols and provider orders 
  • Monitor withdrawal symptoms, vital signs, and client responses to treatment 
  • Identify and respond to emerging medical or psychiatric concerns 
  • Collaborate closely with MDs, APRNs, and the interdisciplinary team 
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards (DPH, CARF, TJC, ASAM, OSHA) 
  • Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for clients 

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut 
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred 
  • Experience in medical, psychiatric, or behavioral health settings 
  • Substance use treatment experience strongly preferred 
  • Knowledge of withdrawal symptoms and detox protocols 
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team 
  • Comfort with electronic medical records and basic computer systems

Compensation:


The base salary range for the position is $38.00 - $45.00 per hour before any shift differentials. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.  This position is eligible for shift differentials, with increased hourly rates offered for many evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Specific eligibility is reviewed during the interview process.
