Desktop Support Engineer

About the Role

Old Mission Capital is looking for a hands-on Desktop Support Engineer to join our systems team. You'll support the endpoint infrastructure behind our global trading operations which includes keeping desktops running, users productive, and systems secure. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who takes ownership and wants to grow in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support the Windows and Linux desktop environment across global offices
  • Deploy and manage endpoints using Microsoft Intune
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and access in Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Office suite)
  • Keep desktops current with patches and security updates
  • Execute physical desk moves, hardware setup, and equipment reconfiguration as staff and seating arrangements change
  • Monitor service desk ticket queues to ensure timely response
  • Provide basic network, phone, and video conferencing support
  • Proactively identify recurring support issues and recommend process, documentation, or system improvements
  • Occasional weekend support will be required for upgrades, data center work, or emergencies
Required Skills
  • 1–2 years of desktop support experience
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
  • Familiarity with Intune or similar endpoint management tools
  • Experience supporting remote users and VPN troubleshooting
  • Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Strong communicator with good organizational skills and a team-first attitude
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Ability to work rotational shift, M-F, 7am and 9am start time
  • Ability to work the on-call rotational shift once a month

Base Salary Range
