The Desktop Service Technician I provides frontline technical support to employees and contractors, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of end-user technology. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, mobile devices, and peripheral issues while delivering exceptional customer service. The Field Services I specialist assists with device deployments, onboarding activities, incident resolution, and day-to-day support of the organization's end-user computing environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide Tier 2 support for desktop, laptop, mobile device, printer, and peripheral-related issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, operating system, application, and connectivity problems
  • Serve as an escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by the Service Desk
  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining service level objectives
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and support procedures
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process or technology improvements
  • Participate in testing and deployment of new technologies and services
  • Assist with Microsoft 365, Teams, Teams Rooms, conferencing technologies, and endpoint management solutions
  • Support office technology including meeting room systems, docking stations, monitors, and peripherals
  • Work with server, network, and security teams during incident resolution and project implementations
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Attend all required company training
  • Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the department or manager 

 Must have for this role:

  • Associates Degree in IT/MIS or 2+ years of applicable work experience in lieu of degree
  • 1+ year of relevant technical support, field service, help desk, or equipment maintenance experience
  • Basic understanding of electronic and mechanical systems, including routine maintenance and fundamental troubleshooting
  • Strong willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and follow documented procedures
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support customers and internal end users
  • Ability to follow instructions, work effectively within a team, and support flexible business needs

Nice to have:

  • Previous ServiceNow experience a plus
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent follow-through, attention to detail, and task management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability
  • Coursework, certification, or hands-on training in IT, MIS, electronics, mechanical systems, or a related technical discipline is a plus
