Job Title: Network/Operations -Desktop Support III
Location: Gary, IN, 46402
Duration: 18 Months (07/17/2026 -01/16/2028)
Job Overview:
The Desktop Support III technician will provide hands-on support for end-user desktop computers, laptops, and related IT equipment in a manufacturing/industrial environment. The role ensures that all employees have reliable and properly functioning IT systems to perform their daily tasks with minimal disruption. This is an on-site, user-facing role requiring strong technical troubleshooting skills and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site desktop and desk-side support for end users
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
  • Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Perform Active Directory user account management and support
  • Respond to service desk tickets and resolve issues within SLA timelines
  • Perform software installation, updates, and basic system maintenance
  • Provide face-to-face support to plant/office users
  • Ensure minimal disruption during issue resolution
  • Participate in on-call rotation after training period (3-6 months)
  • Follow all site safety and PPE requirements in industrial environment

Required Skills:
  • 2-3 years of desktop/desk-side support experience
  • Strong experience with Windows OS environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Active Directory administration experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (hardware/software/network basics)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/plant environment
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and wearing PPE

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree preferred (for future permanent hire consideration)
  • Minimum 2 years IT support experience required
  • 8-10+ years experienced candidates may be considered within budget
