Job description

Job Description:
The Desktop Support Technician I provide system-wide, first-level IT support for Powers Health end users. This role is responsible for responding to Help Desk phone calls and electronic requests, resolving Level I incidents in accordance with established Incident Management policies, and escalating issues as appropriate. The position also supports desktop-related project tasks and assists in maintaining standardized hardware and workstation configurations across the organization.
This role requires a strong focus on customer service, documentation, and adherence to healthcare IT standards. The Desktop Support Technician I works independently to prioritize tasks while following defined escalation paths and service level agreements (SLAs).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR high school diploma with a minimum of two (2) years of desktop support experience.
  • Healthcare IT support experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and support Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet-based applications.
  • Ability to repair and support desktop and laptop hardware (HP and/or Macintosh preferred).
  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) ticketing systems such as Cherwell or ServiceNow preferred.
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while following established processes and escalation procedures.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with non-technical users at all organizational levels.
