Employment status: permanent Hours/week: 36.25 in winter and 32 in summer

Start date: Immediately

Annual salary: between $52,784 and $70,084, in accordance with the FNEC’s salary scale

Job description

The incumbent provides full administrative and technical support to the Data and Research Services team. The administrative assistant works in close collaboration with the director and supports him in his adminstrative and operational responsibilities. The incumbent will prioritize communications received by mail, phone and email, write or draft correspondence, and forward calls and correspondence to the appropriate co-workers within the organization. The incumbent participates in organizing business travel for team members and supports other administrative assistants in organizing meetings and events, managing both logistics and high-volume document production within the required deadlines.

Requirements

  • A college diploma (DCS) in office administration and a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position, OR
  • A Secondary School Vocational Diploma (SSVD) in secretarial studies and at least five years’ experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency with word processors and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of spelling, grammar and administrative writing
  • Demonstrate administrative skills such as: synthesizing information effectively, managing and monitoring files, and establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Have a good understanding of filing methods and techniques
  • Good knowledge of schools and the unique characteristics of education in First Nations communities in Quebec (asset)
