Job Summary:

This position reports to the Automation and System Controls Manager and is responsible for leading the full product lifecycle of MCC burn-in systems by designing and automating industrial electromechanical systems, customizing power delivery and machine control architectures to meet customer expectations, producing schematics, developing automation solutions, selecting machine control hardware, creating design verifications, and troubleshooting with Production and Purchasing to resolve issues. This position serves as the technical leader for industrial automation, electrical power distribution, and machine safety while driving reliable, scalable, and manufacturable system designs.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading the full product lifecycle of the power delivery system, including conceptualization, development of prototypes, testing, and finalizing designs.

Develop industrial automation architectures including PLC programming concepts, machine sequencing, distributed I/O networks, HMI integration, and system communications.

Produces system schematics, panel layouts, wire lists, bill of materials and procedures to support operations.

Select and specify machine control hardware, including programmable logic controllers and all related modules and interconnected I/O devices.

Customizes power delivery systems to meet customer expectations. Leads conversations with customers directly to clarify power requirements.

Leading technical expert for electrical machine safety standards and industrial power interconnection.

Creates design verifications and manufacturing tests to confirm the functionality of electrical components and systems.

Troubleshoots with Production and Purchasing to solve unforeseen problems with product design, implementation and product components.

Support commissioning, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and startup activities to validate automation system performance.

Partners with Sales and Field Service to support customer issues and develop necessary Engineering and Field Change Orders.

Works with cross functional team to determine root cause of errors and develop a corrective action plan.

Communicates engineering information across teams and departments to facilitate successful completion of large-scale projects.

Provides technical support to junior team members and reviews project schematic work, as necessary.

Leads initial and ongoing design reviews.

Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

10+ years of experience in industrial system design and power control.

Hands on experience with industrial power systems.

Experience with automation of industrial electromechanical systems.

Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards (one or more of: NFPA 79, NFPA 70, IEC 60204, SEMI S22, UL508)

Thorough understanding of modern electronic systems and component materials.

Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.

Experience designing and developing electromechanical assemblies.

Experience with international low voltage (<600VAC) power systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of ERP Systems and Manufacturing Systems.

Experience with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, EtherCAT, or similar).

Experience supporting machine commissioning and industrial automation startup.

Familiarity with industrial robotics, motion control, or vision systems.
