Job description

Baton Rouge, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Drafter to create technical and detailed drawings for commercial construction projects in a full-time opportunity.

Essential Duties

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans for construction projects using AutoCAD and related drafting software
  • Collaborate closely with clients, engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and project requirements are met
  • Review building codes, site requirements, and project specifications to identify impacts on building plans
  • Revise and update drawings based on project changes, field conditions, and client feedback
  • Conduct site visits to gather measurements, collect project data, and verify compliance with construction drawings
  • Maintain organized project documentation and drawing records
  • Assist with coordination between multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Requirements/Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Version 2018 or later
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Working knowledge of Revit preferred
  • Understanding of commercial building codes preferred
  • Knowledge of metal building construction preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical drawings

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
