Position Description

The Design Consultant is responsible for guiding homebuyers through the selections process, helping them personalize their home with confidence and clarity. This role blends design expertise with customer experience excellence.

The Design Consultant works closely with internal teams, trades and suppliers to ensure selections are accurate, aligned with company standards, and completed on schedule

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Design Guidance

  • Lead customers through the home selections process in a professional, engaging, and supportive manner
  • Provide expert guidance on finishes, fixtures, layouts, and design options
  • Educate homebuyers on the long-term care, maintenance, and value of selected materials and finishes
  • Help homebuyers align selections with their lifestyle needs, budget, and long-term vision
  • Create personalized interior palettes tailored to each homebuyer


Selections and Documentation

  • Utilize internal software systems to document selections
  • Develop and manage change requests with clear and accurate pricing for homebuyers
  • Review plans, specifications, and pricing to ensure consistency
  • Ensure selections comply with company standards, timelines, and construction requirements

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams, trades and suppliers
  • Communicate clearly to support smooth transitions from sales through construction
  • Identify and proactively resolve discrepancies or potential issues
  • Manage onsite issues by assessing situations, communicating updates and solutions to homebuyers, and ensuring all changes are accurately documented

Operational Excellence and Market Awareness

Qualifications
