Responsibilities

Infiltrator Water Technologies has an exciting new role available โ€“ Product Design Engineer II. We are seeking an experienced and talented Mechanical Engineer with expertise in plastic design. Here is a bit about the role:

  • New Product development including engineering concept, design analysis, calculations and problem solving.
  • Conduct form/fit feasibility studies on new product concepts.
  • Address product design issues with respect to tooling and manufacturing with other team members.
  • Provides technical support to other departments.
  • Works directly on the development of prototype parts.
  • Responsible for CAD design, drawings and changes.
  • Responsible for conducting design reviews and drawing reviews
  • Apply project management principles to define task workload and timelines.
  • Assure technical quality and design process rigor in execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Apply product lifecycle management approach through PDM software

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and superior interpersonal skills for interaction with all levels of personnel and contacts within and outside IWT.
  • S. in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a concentration in plastics part design and molding.
  • Proven creative skills in product design and problem solving through coursework or personal interests.
  • Must have at least 5+ years designing 3D (physical) products that have a high percentage of plastic materials.
  • Hands-on physical skills associated with product development extremely important.
  • Experience with working in a shop environment and ability to make simple prototypes highly desirable.
  • 5+ years with CAD experience required; SolidWorks preferred.
  • Experience with a range of materials (particularly various plastics) and processes (injection molding, thermoforming).
  • Must possess a comfort level with (and interest in) working in a very fast-paced product development environment where ideation and product design rapidly evolve.
