Ministry Area Purpose: ย 

The Content & Communications Department exists to tell the story of what God is doing in and through Westwood Community Church to internal and external audiences using the arts of language, design, and digital media.ย 


Role:ย 

Intentionally invest in gaining experience and knowledge for professional, personal, and spiritual development.ย 


Responsibilities:ย 

  • Provide Westwood ministries with visual support through the design and delivery of digital and print mediaย 
  • Provide creative support for Westwood worship services (Sunday services, holiday services) to ensure a creative and cohesive worship experience at all venues and sitesย 
  • Work with teaching pastors, worship department, and video team to brainstorm and execute creative and interactive service elementsย 
  • Collaborate with video team on bumpers and service videosย 
  • Select and create visuals for weekly services, including announcements, song backgrounds, sermon backgrounds, handouts, and giveaways, etc.ย 
  • Collaborate on videos with the Video Teamย 
  • Participate in creative brainstormingย 
  • Provide graphic elements and brandingย 
  • Assist in video production when neededย 
  • Interact with other graphic design contractors and volunteers as neededย 
  • Work with volunteers and/or lay staff to utilize the gifts of the Westwood congregation (i.e. graphic design support, photography support)ย 
  • Work in collaboration with other communications staff to support the social media, video, and photography teamsย 
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  • Align to and live out the Westwood Staff Values: Head High, Heart Soft, Arms Linked, Feet Forward

Requirements

  • Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesusย 
  • BA/BS degree (or in process) or equivalent certification in appropriate disciplineย 
  • Working knowledge of the graphic design processย 
  • Experience working with print vendors and/or digital media preferredย 
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environmentย 
  • Strong leadership and organizational skillsย 
  • Strong communication skillsย 
  • Comfortable presenting important design concepts to Westwood leadershipย 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignย 
  • Committed to teamwork among staffย 
  • Creative, flexible, and self-directed working styleย 
  • Organized and detail-orientedย 
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionallyย 
  • Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at largeย

  • Participate in required team events: Orientation (September 8th, 2026) and Intensives (October 26-28th, 2026 and April 5-7th, 2027)
