Ready to make an impact at the forefront of engineering innovation? Join Johnson Controls as a CAD & PLM Documentation Specialist, where you'll play a critical role in shaping how our engineering teams design, collaborate, and deliver world-class solutions.

In this role, you will drive the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of PTC Creo and Windchill documentation, best practices, and workflows-ensuring excellence in engineering design quality and consistency. You'll create structured, AI-ready documentation and validation frameworks that empower engineers to confidently verify compliance with requirements and accelerate streamlined product release processes.

Location: This is an onsite position based at our Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be within commuting distance or open to relocation-relocation packages are available. Only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered.

How you will do it

  • Develop and document CAD best practicesfor Creo (parts, assemblies, drawings)

  • Standardize modeling approaches, templates, and design guidelines

  • Create clear documentation for PLM workflows (Windchill), including lifecycle, revisions, and release processes

  • Define and document engineering change processes(ECR/ECN)

  • Build checklists, validation criteria, and documentation frameworksto ensure design quality and compliance

  • Align documentation with BOM structures and PLM data requirements

  • Partner with engineering, quality, and PLM teams to drive consistency and adoption

  • Develop training materials, examples, and user guides

  • Continuously improve documentation based on feedback and evolving tools

What you will need

Required

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Experience working with PTC Creo (3D modeling and drawings)

  • Experience with Windchill or similar PLM system

  • Strong understanding of engineering design documentation and processes

  • Ability to translate technical workflows into clear, structured documentation

Preferred

  • Experience developing engineering or CAD standards

  • Familiarity with change management processes (ECR/ECN)

  • Exposure to documentation frameworks, validation, or rule-based systems

  • Manufacturing or product design environment experience
