Job description

The Design/Documentation Engineer will be responsible for developing new photonic device technology and supporting existing products. Manage and contribute to the development process from new product request or inception through design, documentation, and validation, working cross-functionally with other departments and external suppliers. The candidate will support existing products by participating in continuous improvement and the ECN process, including failure analysis, design and change reviews, and implementation of changes. *Preference will be given to candidates currently located within commutable distance to Salem, NH. This is a full-time, exempt, office-based role will report to the COO located in our Salem, NH office. Essential Responsibilities • Support Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process with review, CAD updates, and approval of designs, models and drawings • Collaborate with other engineers, sales, and manufacturing to develop new products in CAD with associated documentation from concept and configuration to release • Contribute to ongoing improvements to product design, documents, and standardization • Contribute to reports, publications and documentation associated with design and models. Qualifications: • BSME preferred, minimum 5 years of professional drawing/design experience, or Associates w/ 8 years of experience • SolidWorks, 2020 or newer, minimum 2 years of experience • PDM experience preferred • Strong analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and excellent written/verbal communication skills • GD&T experience • Industry/product or similar experience • Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and experience in manufacturing environment preferred • Experience in a quality-controlled environment and/or ISO exposure MISC: • Able to lift up to 25lbs • Travel up to 10% as needed
