How You'll Make an Impact
The Director, Marketing - Installer Channels leads the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies that drive profitable growth across Valvoline Global Operations' Installer Channels business. This role enables commercial growth through customer acquisition, retention, demand generation, distributor engagement, and strategic account marketing initiatives that support the organization's volume, profit, and share objectives across Light Duty Direct and Indirect product portfolios and business channels in the United States and Canada.
Working closely with Sales, Product Strategy, Supply Chain, Digital, and other cross-functional partners, this leader develops data-driven marketing plans, optimizes customer engagement across multiple channels, and leverages CRM and marketing technology to improve business performance. The Director also builds a high-performing marketing team while fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and executional excellence.
Responsibilities Include
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that support business objectives across Installer Channels.
  • Translate commercial priorities into actionable marketing initiatives that drive customer acquisition, retention, loyalty, and profitable growth.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to develop marketing strategies, programs, and tools that support distributor expansion, strategic account growth, customer retention, and whitespace opportunities across priority markets.
  • Lead development of customer, distributor, and channel value propositions that strengthen differentiation and support commercial objectives.
  • Partner with Sales and Product Strategy to identify portfolio, product trade-up, and positioning opportunities that increase for market expansion and increased customer value.
  • Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to inform marketing decisions and investment priorities.
  • Develop and optimize demand generation programs that improve lead quality, customer engagement, and conversion opportunities in partnership with Sales teams.
  • Lead development and optimization of CRM and customer engagement programs utilizing Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other digital marketing platforms.
  • Design customer journey strategies that deliver personalized experiences across multiple communication channels.
  • Optimize campaign performance through testing, measurement, segmentation, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive adoption of digital marketing capabilities that improve customer experience and marketing effectiveness.
  • Lead annual marketing planning, campaign development, and execution across Installer Channel brands and product categories.
  • Ensure brand messaging remains consistent while supporting commercial priorities across diverse customer segments.
  • Manage marketing investments, campaign performance, and business KPIs to maximize return on investment.
  • Collaborate with agency partners and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality marketing programs on time and within budget.
  • Develop messaging frameworks and customer-facing content that communicate Valvoline's customer value proposition and support priority growth initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Strategy and Commercial teams to support portfolio optimization, product trade-up strategies, and differentiated product positioning across targeted market segments.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts that align Marketing resources and investments with annual OGSM priorities and approved business growth initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships across Sales, Product Strategy, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Digital, and Corporate Marketing.
  • Ensure cross-functional planning supports efforts that align marketing initiatives with broader business objectives, priorities, and resource commitments.
  • Influence decisions across matrixed teams while balancing competing priorities and organizational needs.
  • Communicate marketing strategies, business performance, and key initiatives with clarity to senior leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing team through effective goal setting, performance management, and career development.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and results-oriented culture that encourages innovation and accountability.
  • Develop organizational capabilities while ensuring appropriate succession planning and talent development.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field required.
  • MBA or other advanced business degrees preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • 6+ years of demonstrated success leading large teams, including managing managers
  • Experience leading integrated B2B marketing strategies within a complex commercial organization.
  • Experience supporting distributor-based go-to-market models and indirect sales channels.
  • Experience partnering closely with Sales organizations to drive commercial results.
  • Experience developing account-based marketing programs for strategic customers and key regional accounts.
  • Experience building demand generation strategies and measuring marketing contribution to commercial performance.
  • Strong background in CRM, customer lifecycle marketing, and digital marketing technologies, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar platforms.
  • Proven success managing marketing budgets, KPIs, and business performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated success working within highly matrixed organizations requiring collaboration and influence.
  • Strong strategic thinking balanced with operational execution.
  • Understanding of distributor, channel partner, and strategic account business models.
  • Expertise in customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, demand generation, and campaign optimization.
  • Experience developing customer segmentation, value propositions, and go-to-market messaging strategies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience translating data into actionable business insights.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing marketing investments and measuring ROI.
  • Proficiency with CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and digital marketing platforms.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Position needs to sit in Lexington, KY and will be a hybrid enviorment.
  • Frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours to support business priorities.
