Job description

Way Engineering is located in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Nashville.  We specialize in commercial air conditioning, plumbing, piping, and the ongoing maintenance of these systems. Way Engineering is at the forefront of design build/design assist, pre-construction, commissioning, building information modeling (BIM), and quality control.  We are seeking a Union Service HVAC Chiller Technician to join our team!

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Diagnoses HVAC, refrigeration, and performance through observation, testing, and setup
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment
  • Complete electronic documentation of service-related tasks, materials, and labor hours
  • Be able to explain the service charges and work performed to the satisfaction of our customers
  • Maintain inventory stock on the service vehicle
  • Reconcile work order documents, vendor packing slips, and weekly time sheets for supervisor review

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial HVAC Chiller Technician experience
  • Ability to follow construction plans and specifications for proper installation and repair
  • Must have a valid EPA Card and TDLR
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Stable work history showing responsibility and professional growth
  • Ability to competently use a variety of gauges, meters, and measuring instruments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and the customer.
  • This position requires driving on company time for company-related tasks. All candidates are subject to a driving background check prior to hire
