About The Role
The Model Home Design Specialist is an entry-level design support role that assists the Model Home design team. They will support the design team through selection development, presentation creation, documentation management, and multi-market installation coordination. This role serves as the department's developing subject matter expert for interior selections, model home documentation, and presentation standards. Partnering closely with the Asst Manager, the Model Home Design Specialist is responsible for developing and assembling interior selection packages that communicate the overall design direction of a model while building comprehensive knowledge of Perry Homes products, floor plans, and design processes. The position provides critical support that ensures consistency, accuracy, and efficient execution across all divisions.
What You'll Do
  • Support selection-related issue resolution by researching options, organizing information, and escalating recommendations to the designer or manager
  • Support designers through creating interior selections, maintaining knowledge in available products, option offerings, design standards, and current selection programs.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, plumbing, lighting, hardware, and other finish options across all divisions.
  • Develop and curate cohesive interior selection packages (flooring, cabinets, countertops, tile, plumbing selections, hardware, color palettes and décor concepts
  • Create presentations with interior selections & floor plans to be presented to internal teams
  • Completes and reviews Selections Intake Form and coordinate with Selections Dept & Designers
  • Create and implement new design selection packages to support Designers concept
  • Collaborate with Designers & Selections Dept and engage in the start-up design process, including reviewing floorplans, previous presentations and design concepts.
  • Manage and maintain the Model Home Selections Intake Form, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and communicated effectively between the Models and Selections Departments. Prepare, coordinate, and finalize schedules, records, and paperwork essential for job responsibilities.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • College degree in Interior Design or another design-related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current, valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.
  • Must be willing to travel locally and in other markets for model home installations.
