PURPOSE:

The Design Assistant (DA) will assist with the overall operation of the Showroom. This includes assisting the Sales Designers and General Manager in their normal duties and facilitating the sales process. The DA is responsible for updates and the overall condition of the resource room. Design Assistants are also held accountable for the catalogs, samples, cleanliness and organization of the resource room.


RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Welcome and assist clients in the showroom/or via telephone including but not limited to pickups, payments on account, or assistance with a purchase.
  • Make sure the UP board is handled correctly and designers are back in rotation when done with client.
  • Handle incoming calls to ensure they are directed to the appropriate party and clients calling in are properly assisted.
  • Manage the swatches and materials on loan process
  • Complete all updates from buying department and inform all designers of any changes/updates of new merchandise/vendors.
  • Ensure the catalog and resource room is organized and presentation ready at all times.
  • Make certain all supplies are consistently stocked for all designers.
  • Coordinate with Corporate partners to ensure design operational processes are completed.
  • Assist designers with projects, floor plans, entering of sales, minor adjustments to s/o, preparing power point presentations 3D presentations and project presentations in accordance with Cantoni design guidelines, etc.
  • House calls/deliveries: Assist designers on del/house calls/installations
  • Conduct opening/closing procedures of the store on days worked.
  • Communicate with vendors as required to achieve above duties
  • Performs other duties assigned

Requirements

Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience

Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience in related field.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and CAD

Strong and proven interpersonal communication skills with all levels of management and staff.

Strategic written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated written communications.

Knowledge of computer programs in support of department functions.
