Dermatology Medical Receptionist (Full-Time)
Center for Skin Wellness is seeking an experienced Dermatology Medical Receptionist to join our growing medical and cosmetic dermatology practice. We are a community-focused group committed to providing exceptional patient care in a welcoming and professional environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys building positive relationships with patients while thriving in a fast-paced medical office. Previous dermatology experience is highly preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Greet all patients, family members, visitors, and pharmaceutical/medical sales representatives in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Perform patient check-in and registration while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Verify and scan insurance cards and photo identification into the electronic medical record (ModMed).
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and contact information; update records as needed.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations and referrals, and ensure required documentation is received before appointments.
  • Assist patients with registration and completion of the patient portal.
  • Review office policies, HIPAA forms, financial policies, and obtain required patient signatures.
  • Schedule, reschedule, cancel, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Follow up with missed appointments and maintain provider schedules.
  • Request and track medical records from referring physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Collect copays, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments.
  • Answer a busy multi-line telephone system with excellent phone etiquette.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately.
  • Perform administrative duties including scanning, faxing, filing, and document management.
  • Cross-train to assist with patient check-out and other front office responsibilities.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and outstanding customer service.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of medical receptionist, medical office, or healthcare administrative experience required.
  • Dermatology experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with:
    • Medical scheduling
    • Insurance verification
    • Prior authorizations
    • Insurance referrals
    • Patient registration
    • Payment collection
    • Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical office workflows.
  • Professional appearance with a positive, patient-focused attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Preferred Skills
  • Medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology knowledge.
  • Familiarity with HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage insurance plans.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced medical office.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive atmosphere while effectively resolving patient concerns.
