Job Description

Position Summary

Abramson Labor Group is seeking an experienced Deposition Department Senior to join our Workers' Compensation team in Burbank, CA. In this role, you will serve as a mentor and resource to the deposition team, manage calendars, and collaborate with leadership on department projects. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and ready to lead by example in a fast-paced legal environment.

Essential Functions of the Role Include, But Are Not Limited To

Mentorship & Team Support

  • Serve as a mentor to the remaining staff on the team — answering questions, providing guidance, and being a reliable resource for day-to-day support
  • Meet weekly with associates to review their deposition calendars for the upcoming month and ensure alignment on priorities and deadlines
  • Step into any team member role as needed to support continuity and keep the department running smoothly

Deposition & Calendar Management

  • Manage and maintain the workers' compensation deposition calendar to ensure daily and monthly scheduling goals are met
  • Schedule depositions and coordinate logistics with in-house attorneys, opposing counsel, clients, and court reporting services
  • Track deposition deadlines and ensure compliance with discovery timelines and court orders
  • Distribute deposition notices, Zoom links, addresses, and related documentation to all parties
  • Request transcripts as needed and ensure timely delivery to the legal team
  • Process deposition-related invoices and maintain organized records of all calendared depositions and communications

Leadership Collaboration

  • Collaborate with leadership on department projects and initiatives as assigned by your manager
  • Communicate proactively with attorneys, legal assistants, and case managers to ensure smooth coordination across all matters
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a legal setting; workers' compensation, civil litigation, or employment law preferred
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling and noticing litigation depositions is required
  • Prior experience in a senior, lead, or mentorship role within a legal department is highly preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management or calendar software
  • Working knowledge of California workers' compensation procedures is highly desirable
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; paralegal certificate or legal studies coursework is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
