The Senior Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of deposit accounts and related banking services. This position ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of transactions while delivering exceptional internal and external customer services. The Specialist will work closely with other divisions/departments to support deposit products, resolve account issues and maintain regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

This position requires excellent attention to detail and deep understanding of depository processing/exception processing regulations and procedures.

  • Performs routine and intermediate client service duties; balancing GLs and other daily maintenance operations reports, online banking and other cash management functions (mRDC, RDC, ACH), cash letter adjustments, and other client transactions as requested.
  • Handles adjustments and research requests related to deposit accounts
  • Monitor and process deposit returns and exceptions
  • Performs daily balancing, reconciliation and reporting functions
  • Administers and maintains debit card service and remote deposit services
  • Review and process legal documentation, including levies, garnishments, subpoenas and deceased account documentation
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding deposit operation issues
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend operational efficiencies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with retention requirements.
  • Process deposit account related requests
  • Process account maintenance as needed
  • Maintains files, copies, and fax documents

Other Functions

  • Assist clients with Online Banking and its ancillary products including but not limited to, resetting passwords, assisting clients with general troubleshooting, and reviewing potential fraudulent transactions
  • May assist clients with Mobile Banking and Mobile Remote Deposit Capture basic functionality
  • May assist New Accounts (ordering checks, processing debit card applications) as required, or for back up to other personnel
  • Attends and contributes to Operations and All Staff meetings held periodically
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Assists management in ensuring compliance with applicable banking regulations, with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act. Understands government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations and the fact that compliance with BSA regulations is an enterprise responsibility

    • Deposit Regulations (Reg CC, D, DD)
    • AML/BSA

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
