Here is what you need to know about the job:
We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Denim Designer to join our growing team. This role will work directly alongside the Director to support the design, development, and execution of denim-driven collections across multiple brands and retail channels.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in denim design and product development, with a deep understanding of denim fabrications, washes, fits, garment construction, and market trends. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and be highly organized, capable of working independently, and confident managing daily responsibilities and communication when the Director is traveling for customer presentations and development meetings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director in the creation and execution of seasonal denim and denim-inspired apparel collections
  • Research and identify emerging denim trends, washes, fabric innovations, fits, silhouettes, and market opportunities
  • Build compelling trend, concept, wash, and customer presentation decks
  • Develop seasonal denim assortments and garment concepts for various brands and customers
  • Partner closely with fabric mills, laundries, overseas factories, and vendors throughout the development process
  • Create and maintain technical packages (tech packs) with accurate garment details, construction information, wash instructions, and fit specifications
  • Review denim wash developments, laundry submissions, and garment samples, providing detailed comments on wash, fit, construction, handfeel, and overall aesthetic
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product execution aligns with customer expectations, trend direction, and brand positioning
  • Organize and track development calendars, sample flow, approvals, and presentation needs
  • Support fabric, trim, and wash development initiatives to drive innovation and commercial success
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Independently oversee and support daily denim department responsibilities when needed

Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of denim design and product development experience
  • Strong understanding of denim fabrications, washes, laundry techniques, garment construction, and fit
  • Experience developing denim bottoms, jackets, skirts, and related categories
  • Proven experience creating tech packs and working directly with overseas factories, laundries, and vendors
  • Strong knowledge of denim trends, competitive landscape, and customer positioning
  • Proficient in AI platforms, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong eye for trend, styling, details, and elevated product execution
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong sense of ownership

Preferred Skills
  • Experience developing denim collections for private label, branded, and licensed apparel programs
  • Strong understanding of denim wash development, garment dyeing, and laundry techniques
  • Presentation deck and trend board creation experience
  • Experience reviewing wash developments and laundry submissions
  • Understanding of both elevated fashion denim and commercial denim markets

Compensation/Benefits:
  • The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $115,000.00, which can vary based on role requirements, skill set, and years of experience.
