Job description

EGS is seeking a Demolition Superintendent in Pittsburgh, PA to support our international D&D client.  This is a 6 month contract opportunity that comes with top competitive rates and great benefits.  Must be US Citizen. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Directly responsible for the Demolition Crews means and methods of demolition operations in compliance with OSHA Safety & Health Parameters. Full-time, on-site supervision and hands-on involvement in daily operations from project inception to completion. 
  • Safety Leadership: As an OSHA Qualified Competent Person, the fulltime Onsite Demo Superintendent shall be a Point of Contact for Safety and Health issues while performing ADND's Scope of Work. Applicants must have a proven track record of incident-free management on large-scale demolition projects.
  • Hazard Mitigation: Conduct environmental and safety assessments, JHA's/AHA's, implement work plans, and ensure strict adherence to EPA, OSHA, and contract-specific regulations. Complete the OSHA Pre-Demolition Engineering Survey.
  • Environmental Remediation: Oversee abatement and remediation of hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, PCBs, heavy metals, and CERCLA/RCRA-defined wastes.
  • Radiological Demolition: Managing crews and work inside contamination areas (CA's), and high contamination areas (HCA's) with track record for open-air LLW demolitions at Department of Energy (DOE) facilities. Follow Radioactive Work Permits (RWP), Industrial Work Permits (IWP), and Hot Work Permits.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise laborers, equipment operators, and environmental technicians. Preference given to candidates with access to reliable, safety-conscious crews

Qualifications
  • Minimum five years' experience 
  • Demonstrate ability to manage demolition and remediation projects in high-risk environments for crews from four to fifty people.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational communication skills.
  • Self-starter, results-oriented with clear accountability standards tied to safety performance.
  • Familiarity with federal/state environmental and demolition regulations.
  • Able to provide accurate lookahead schedules along with manpower and equipment onsite to the Senior Officers/Project Manager/Client
  • Fluent in reading and speaking English and able to abide by the terms of the Contract and all Safety, Health and Environmental requirements of this project.
  • Provide listing of past and current Safety Training Courses & Certifications.
  • RTC - Read the Contract

  • This is a travel orientated position with trips home. 
  • CAPM, PMP, EVMS certifications are a plus
  • National Demolition Association (NDA) Supervisor Certificate is a plus
  • Familiarity with estimating is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products is a plus (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar is a plus
