Job Title: Scheduler & Travel Aide
Compensation: $54,000
Location: Tallahassee

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the Chair's schedule and ensuring seamless execution of meetings and appearances. This position will be expected to operate with a high level of responsibility and discretion. Must have the ability to travel independently, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.

This is a dynamic entry level role that works with overlapping deadlines and has to coordinate logistics and information across departments. FDP is looking for a reliable candidate who is comfortable with frequent travel, the potential for evening work, and weekend events.

Responsibilities

Schedule Management:
- Efficiently manage the Chair's calendar, including scheduling and coordinating meetings, events, and appointments.
- Prioritize and organize the Chair's daily, weekly, and monthly schedule to maximize productivity.
- Draft travel itineraries and budgets for approved travel.
- Follow up with the Chair and the staff to ensure task completion for outstanding needs.

Meeting and Event Coordination:
- Work collaboratively with the Chair and other team members to plan, organize, and execute events and event attendance, ensuring all logistical aspects are well-coordinated.
- Prepare the Chair for events by completing and providing necessary materials, briefings, and background information.
- Staff meetings with the chair and report feedback to appropriate staff.

Briefing Preparation:
- Gather and compile relevant information to create comprehensive briefings for the Chair in preparation for meetings, interviews, and public appearances.
- Keep abreast of current political events, party initiatives, and key issues to ensure the Chair is well-informed.

Communication and Liaison:
- Serve as a point of contact for the Chair, managing incoming communication, and responding or redirecting as needed.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Senior Staff to facilitate communication between the Chair and other key stakeholders.

Staff Support:
- Provide administrative support to the leadership by coordinating staff travel, team meetings, and supporting special events and projects.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role providing administrative support, preferably in a political or nonprofit organization.
- Direct experience managing travel, schedules and/or principals preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise memos, emails, and reports.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to upholding the values and mission of the Florida Democratic Party.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required.
- Valid Drivers License and clean driving record.
