Position: Operations Associate

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Reports to: Operations Director

Schedule: Part-time; 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 9am- 5pm

Start Date: May 16, 2026

Compensation: $20.00 Hourly

The Florida Democratic Party is looking for a detail-driven, solutions-oriented Operations Associate to play a key role in powering the day-to-day work of a dynamic, mission-driven organization. Working closely with the Operations Director, this position sits at the center of it all: supporting financial tracking, coordinating logistics, managing assets, and helping maintain the systems that keep our team moving forward. From streamlining travel plans to supporting our tech and benefits infrastructure, you’ll help ensure our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest standards of integrity.

This is a part-time, Tallahassee-based role with flexible hybrid work options and meaningful opportunities for growth over time. During election cycles, you may also have the chance to travel and be part of high-impact events, making this an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the work that shapes Florida’s future.

Essential Functions:Organizational Support
  • Assist in the execution and maintenance of operational functions across all departments, such as administrative support of the FDP’s tech suite and benefits systems.
  • Maintain and respond to departmental requests for supplies, materials and/or travel needs.
  • Assist in monitoring the FDP’s accounts payable for timely processing of invoices and tracking of receipts.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including payroll and benefits setup for new or departing employees.
  • Assist the Operations Director in processing payroll and managing benefits enrollment.
  • Assist the Operations Director in tracking HRrelated concerns and staff inquiries.
  • Assist the Operations Director by maintaining employee records and responding to governmental inquiries, such as background checks of previous employees or completing paperwork requested by the state of Florida.
  • Assist the Operations Director in completing audits and tax return processing.
  • Assist the Operations Director in maintaining and processing records related to legal matters and governmental entities at the state and county levels.
  • Assist the Operations Director in maintaining communication with local and state law enforcement agencies and first responders and to disseminate any relevant information to staff safety during emergencies such as hurricanes or other inclement weather.
  • Monitoring the FDP’s phone and voicemail systems
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Logistics, Travel & Scheduling Support

  • Support travel logistics, including airfare, lodging, rental cars and staff reimbursements.
  • Assist in coordinating staff calendars, meeting schedules, and per diem allocations.
  • Assist the Operations and Finance Directors in special event planning by tracking contracts with outside vendors, assisting in RFP/ quotes process, issuing payments, coordinating security when needed, and other logistical needs.
  • Coordinate obtaining materials and supplies needed for staff or venues.
  • Qualifications
  • Commitment to upholding the values and mission of the Florida Democratic Party
  • Knowledge of political operations, state and federal compliance, and government regulations preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problemsolving, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suites, Excel, and payroll/HR management systems such as Paychex.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent time management and problemsolving skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder, per FEC regulations
