The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns - both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members - with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working professionals who are committed to electing Democrats and winning the House majority.


Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle.


Position Summary: 

The Social Media & Creative Director leads the DCCC's online communications operation and manages a team of designers/strategists. This individual oversees the daily workflow of the social media and creative teams, including short- and long-term planning for the DCCC's organic and paid channels, as well as in-house design and video work required for other departments.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee strategy and production of all organic social media content for the DCCC
  • Manage day-to-day social media operations across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, and Bluesky
  • Collaborate closely with communications, research, and other departments to translate complex topics into accessible, compelling digital content
  • Create and execute occasional paid digital campaigns to generate earned media
  • Track and analyze platform performance using native analytics tools and present insights to senior leadership
  • Develop social media toolkits for members and candidates across the DCCC battlefield
  • Support rapid response around breaking news, announcements, and major events
  • Shape and maintain the committee's brand and visual strategy
  • Manage two cross-functional teams composed of one graphic designer and one social media strategist

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of either communications, social media, and/or design experience required
  • Strong understanding of strategic messaging, as well as best practices for communicating on social platforms
  • Fluency in a wide variety of social media platforms, including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Bluesky, and YouTube
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to draft social copy quickly for rapid response purposes
  • Experience in graphic design and video editing, with knowledge of Canva, Kapwing, and/or Figma being a major plus
  • A great and flexible attitude for a dynamic, campaign-like environment and pace
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team and collaborate with many strategic partners
