The Demand Generation Manager primarily focuses on creating targeted campaigns to generate leads and demand for products or services, often working closely with sales teams. In contrast, the Marketing Manager oversees overall marketing strategies, branding, and broader market outreach. While both roles require marketing expertise, the Demand Generation Manager specializes in demand-focused activities, making it a more tactical role within the marketing function.

What is the role of a demand generation manager?

A demand generation manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to generate interest and demand for a company's products or services. They often utilize digital marketing, content creation, and analytics tools to attract and engage potential customers, aligning campaigns with sales goals. The role requires strong communication skills and knowledge of marketing automation platforms.

How much does a demand gen manager make?

Demand Generation Managers typically earn between $70,000 and $130,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and company size. Senior roles or those with specialized skills in marketing automation tools may have higher salaries, often exceeding $150,000. Compensation can also include bonuses and benefits related to performance and company policies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Demand Generation Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Demand Generation Manager, you need expertise in digital marketing, lead generation strategies, analytics, and often a degree in marketing or a related field. Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (like HubSpot or Marketo), CRM systems, and data analytics tools is typically required. These competencies ensure the successful creation and execution of campaigns that drive qualified leads and fuel business growth.

What jobs make $3,000 a day?

Demand Generation Managers typically do not earn $3,000 a day; such high daily earnings are more common in executive roles like CEOs, investment bankers, or specialized consultants. These positions often require extensive experience, advanced skills, and sometimes ownership stakes or performance-based bonuses. Most roles in demand generation focus on marketing strategies and lead generation, with salaries generally below this level on a daily basis.

What are some common challenges faced by Demand Generation Managers when aligning marketing and sales teams?

Demand Generation Managers often encounter challenges in ensuring seamless collaboration between marketing and sales teams, particularly when it comes to lead quality and handoff processes. Successful managers foster alignment by implementing joint meetings, shared metrics, and continuous process improvements, ensuring both teams work toward revenue targets and customer acquisition goals together.

Job description

About SugarAI
SugarAI is redefining CRM for the age of AI.
We're delivering on the original promise of CRM-turning fragmented customer and revenue signals into clear, prioritized action. Instead of more dashboards or surface-level insights, we help teams focus on what matters most and know exactly what to do next.
More than two decades after our founding, we're entering a new chapter with clarity and momentum-building intelligent, intuitive solutions that work within the flow of how teams actually sell and serve. We're focused on solving complex, real-world challenges where relationships, context, and precision make all the difference.
Our global team is united by a shared commitment to impact, ownership, and continuous growth. We create an environment where thoughtful ideas move quickly, where people are trusted to lead, and where flexibility supports how great work gets done.
If you're excited to help shape what's next in AI-driven CRM-and build technology that drives real outcomes-we'd love to meet you.
Where You Fit In:
As the Demand Generation Manager, New Logo (AMERS), you are a pipeline hunter. Your sole obsession is net-new: opening doors that are closed, winning buyers who don't know us yet, and building the programs that keep that motion repeatable and scalable.
You will own AMERS execution of new logo demand programs, sales plays, and influence-based go-to-market motions-operating within a globally aligned demand strategy while making fast, independent decisions in the field. This is not a coordinator role. You will take strategic direction and run, building programs with accountability for pipeline and market presence outcomes.
You will manage content syndication, dark funnel engagement, industry trade association strategy, and nurture programs while coordinating tightly with Sales, BDRs, Product Marketing, and MOPs. You will also support product launches with a new-logo lens-positioning new offerings for buyers who have never considered Sugar before.
This role reports to the Sr. Director of AMERS Marketing and is designed for someone who can grow into broader leadership scope and step up as the team scales.
You're the person who doesn't wait for direction-you take strategy and run. You've been in a matrixed organization before and know how to move fast without stepping on toes. You're hungry for pipeline, fluent in modern demand motions, and deeply comfortable in the ambiguity that comes with a scaling, integrating company.
**This role operates on a hybrid model, with a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration at our Denver, CO location, specifically, working in-office a minimum of 2 days per week.**
Impact You Will Make in the Role
  • Drive AMERS new logo pipeline contribution by owning end-to-end execution of demand programs and sales plays-translating global strategy, playbooks, and campaign frameworks into pipeline-generating activity with clear AE and BDR feedback loops.

  • Build a scalable content syndication engine that delivers measurable pipeline influence and cost-per-opportunity improvements quarter over quarter, in close collaboration with MOPs on nurture programs that accelerate deal stage progression.

  • Establish Sugar's presence in the buying communities that matter by owning trade association strategy, industry publications, influencer relationships, podcasts, YouTube, and LinkedIn communities-building preference with net-new buyers before they enter an active buying cycle.

  • Ensure new logo field readiness by coordinating with Sales Enablement and Product Marketing so that every program launches with aligned messaging, approved assets, and sales teams who know how to use them.

  • Accelerate new offering adoption with net-new buyers by supporting product launches with a new-logo lens-translating new capabilities into messaging and campaigns that resonate with buyers who have no prior Sugar context.

  • Make the full demand picture visible by tracking, analyzing, and reporting pipeline generation, influence, dark funnel engagement, and program effectiveness-going beyond last-click attribution to show how this role creates and captures demand.

  • Export what works globally by establishing AMERS-informed guidance for market presence and influence strategies (trade associations, communities, publications, influencers) that EMEA and APAC can activate locally.

  • Keep the revenue engine aligned by coordinating with Sales Enablement to maintain consistent field readiness, program adoption, and real-time feedback loops across AMERS, EMEA, and APAC.

What You Will Bring:
  • 7+ years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in SaaS or technology, with a strong focus on new logo acquisition and demand generation.

  • Experience owning programs with pipeline accountability-you've been measured on sourced and influenced pipeline and know how to defend those numbers.

  • Strong understanding of modern demand motions, including traditional digital tactics, content syndication, nurture programs, and dark-funnel or influencer-led engagement.

  • Experience building or activating trade association strategy, industry communities, or influence-based programs (not just LinkedIn ads).

  • Highly organized, execution-focused, and comfortable operating in a matrixed, evolving environment.

  • Data-driven mindset with experience measuring impact beyond direct lead attribution.

  • High autonomy and low maintenance: you ask smart questions, then go execute.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills cross-functionally.

  • Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM platforms.
  • Some travel required for key trade shows, field events, and team offsites.

$90,300 - $121,100 a year
Expected salary range, depending on experience.
We understand that no candidate is perfectly qualified for any job. Experience comes in different forms; many skills are transferable; and passion goes a long way. Even more important than your resume is a clear demonstration of dedication, impact, and the ability to thrive in a fluid and collaborative environment. We want you to learn new things in this role, and we encourage you to apply if your experience is close to what we're looking for. We also know that diversity of background and thought makes for better problem solving and more creative thinking, which is why we're dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team.
