Job description

We are looking for a Commercialization Manager to join the m.ph beauty team! This role will report to the Director of Operations and will be critical in supporting operations and cross-functional teams. The Commercialization Manager role is responsible for end-to-end management of new product launches, reformulations, and change management ensuring all deliverables are completed on-time and on-budget. This individual will coordinate and lead all operational aspects of Commercialization to support strategic initiatives.

To succeed in this role, the individual should be highly collaborative, highly organized, and skilled in project management with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Development

  • Establish and manage new product development (NPD) project timelines (Sellable, Kits, Deluxe, Size Extensions, Sampling, Merch & Collabs)
  • Execute new product launches on time by driving overall project milestones managing key deliverables with cross-functional teams (Product Development, Packaging, Operations, Sales, Planning, Marketing)
  • Facilitate timely stage gate routings and approvals including COGs management with key stakeholders
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risk and resolve critical issues as they arise including developing plans to correct missed deliverables and/or cost targets highlighting the key impact to business
  • Lead bi-weekly Commercialization meeting to ensure launches remain on track
  • Develop and maintain commercialization documents tracking project status, milestones, launch timing, and key performance metrics
  • Monitor product cost targets throughout development and partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to achieve margin objectives without compromising quality or timing
  • Conduct meetings as needed to address any urgent issues, including leading ad hoc meetings to escalate and resolve urgent issues
  • Lead individual project calls with external suppliers, co-manufacturers, Product Development and Operations teams to ensure timelines and key milestones are agreed upon and achieved
  • Initiate all new SKU creation and BOM management on projects with operations to properly facilitate into ERP (Netsuite) to maintain proper Master data

Change Management

  • Maintain Change Tracker and lead any Change Control meetings as needed
  • Track and maintain all final documentation for product change control management to meet all quality protocols
  • Lead and facilitate with cross functional teams on product changes (hard or phase in) as it relates to F&A specs or BOMs impacting artwork, packaging, and inventory driven impacts by brand direction or changes in regulatory or distribution requirements
  • Implement and manage ongoing continuous improvement initiatives to support improved process efficiencies and cost savings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience & demonstrated success in project management (CPG preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of new product development life cycle including Operations, Product Development and Package Development
  • Advanced proficiency in developing Project Management tools and programs
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Experience of personal care/beauty industry a plus
  • Highly collaborative, working cross-functionally across multiple disciplines
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong sense of urgency
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, negotiate, and problem solve
