This is a hands-on role for someone who understands both project accounting workflows and ERP system functionality and can translate business needs into practical system solutions.

Why Hazen and Sawyer:

  • Founded in 1951 by the son of Allen Hazen (developer of the Hazen-Williams equation), we are an employee-owned company with a singular focus on "all things water."
  • Our work includes planning, design, and oversight of construction of environmental infrastructure – for water, wastewater, and stormwater management.
  • We foster a work environment low on bureaucracy and high in creativity.
  • We recruit talented professionals, provide them with challenging, interesting, and creative assignments, and furnish them with the tools they need to succeed.
  • We currently have over 2,400 employees in 90+ offices throughout the United States, Latin America, Canada, and the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

System Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency
  • Lead and support implementation of system enhancements and configuration changes
  • Stay current on Deltek releases and proactively recommend improvements

Implementation & Process Optimization

  • Partner with Finance and Operations to design and implement improved workflows
  • Configure and maintain system modules including project accounting, billing, and reporting
  • Lead testing, validation, and rollout of new features and changes
  • Support business process re-engineering aligned with ERP capabilities

Reporting & Data Management

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics to support decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity through audits, clean-up efforts, and governance processes
  • Assist with financial and operational reporting tied to project performance

User Support & Training

  • Provide day-to-day support to end users across operations, accounting, billing, and project teams
  • Troubleshoot system issues and partner with IT or Deltek support as needed
  • Create and maintain training materials and conduct user training sessions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate into system solutions
  • Work closely with accounting teams to improve billing and revenue workflows
  • Support integrations and data migrations as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional demeanor and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or Deltek Vision, including system configuration and administration
  • Experience in engineering, consulting, or professional services firms
  • Background supporting or leading ERP implementations, upgrades, or major system enhancements
  • Experience with report writing tools (SSRS), data validation, and system audits
  • Working knowledge of data structures, integrations, or SQL
  • Demonstrated experience owning and driving ERP system changes
  • Strong understanding of accounting, billing structures, and revenue workflows within a project-based environment
  • Experience working directly with finance leadership, project accountants, and PMs to implement process improvements
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into system solutions and follow through from design to implementation
  • Experience managing system updates, testing, and rollouts with minimal disruption to operations
  • Comfortable making decisions and recommendations that impact workflows and system design

Employment Type: Full-time. Hybrid work policy (3 days/week in-office)

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans)
  • Pre-tax flexible spending plans for medical, dependent care, and transportation
  • Short and long-term disability, and employer paid life insurance
  • Paid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time off (PTO)
