Position Summary and Objective
The Emergency Response Agent (ERA) provides corporate office locations with on-site emergency response, physical security, and protective services focused on rapid incident response, situational awareness, and coordination with the Physical Security Manager (PSM), guard force, and local law enforcement, EMS, and fire department. This position will be based in Washington, D.C., one of Global Guardian's supported corporate office locations. This Emergency Response Agent supports the site's baseline coverage and may be activated for Residential Security Team (RST) or Emergency Response Team (ERT) response during elevated incidents or special events, at the direction of the PSM or program leadership.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Incident Response

  • Respond on-site within 90 to 120 seconds for critical incidents.
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness across the assigned site; identify and respond to medical emergencies, unauthorized access/intruders, workplace violence, fire/life-safety events, suspicious activity or mail, and protests.
  • Provide static, on-site protective coverage at the assigned office location.
  • De-escalate tense situations involving individuals or groups.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform first aid / medical response consistent with training and certification level.
  • Conduct area patrols in and around the site and report suspicious activity.
Coordination & Reporting
  • Communicate vulnerabilities and safety concerns promptly.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and management through incident reports and other administrative tools, and report incidents promptly through internal tools and secure communication channels.
  • Coordinate with internal and external responders, including guard force, local law enforcement, EMS, and fire.
  • Assist the local Physical Security Manager (PSM) and site/contract leadership.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity and incident reports on time, including expense and closing reports.
  • Promptly identify and escalate deficiencies, failures, and security gaps per established escalation procedures.
Posture & Coverage
  • Maintain a low-key, on-site posture focused on observation, deterrence, and verbal engagement.
  • Reposition within the site as needed during elevated situations.
  • Support RST activation (typically 7 to 14 days, staffed ad hoc rather than pulled from the office team) or ERT activation (immediate response for high-risk incidents such as active threats, major emergencies, or protests) as directed. May include the need to operate a vehicle to transport the principal with the security team from time to time.
  • Assist with coverage schedules and team assignments to maintain minimum on-site redundancy.
Equipment & Administration
  • Operate and maintain protective, operational, and communications equipment, including approved first-aid kits and weapons where authorized.
  • Complete initial and ongoing training in de-escalation, emergency response, compliance, physical fitness, medical response, firearms, and active-shooter response; maintain physical readiness and complete recurring recertification.
  • Assist with intelligence and other duties within the Command Post.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and able to adapt approach across different teams and business needs.

Qualifications and Education
  • 3+ years of executive protection or corporate security experience preferred.
  • 8+ years of military, law enforcement or high-end corporate security experience.
  • 3+ years of a security management background preferred.
  • Planning and surveillance experience.
  • Basic tactical experience in firearms.
  • A high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic medical first aid training, AED; CPR certification required.
  • TCCC required.
  • EMT-B strongly preferred.
  • NREMT certification and state-issued EMT license strongly preferred.
  • Active state-issued armed security / concealed-weapons license as required for the assigned location.
  • Special Police Officer (SPO) from the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) permit preferred (Armed).
  • Maryland PI or VA PSS licenses preferred.
  • D.C. Concealed Carry Permit (CCW) required.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and a review of driving history for relevant disqualifying convictions.
  • Working knowledge of the Washington, D.C. area.
  • Experienced in crisis response.
  • This position requires the daily capacity to perform rigorous physical tasks and handle lethal weapons safely under high-stress conditions. Continued employment is strictly conditioned upon the initial and periodic passing of the company’s non-medical Physical Ability Test (PAT) and Firearms Qualification Test (annual training pipeline). Failure to meet or maintain these passing standards will result in reassignment, suspension, or separation from employment, consistent with applicable state and federal laws.

Position Type and Schedule
  • Full-time, salaried exempt position.
  • 12-hour shift coverage, Monday to Friday baseline, with surge/on-call availability for special events, residential (RST) or emergency response (ERT) activation.
  • May require occasional travel to support surge coverage or RST/ERT activation at other program sites.
  • Availability aligned to assigned shift schedule, plus surge/on-call periods during RST/ERT activation.
  • Salary: $125,000 to $155,000 annually.
