Description:

Position Summary

The Delivery Driver loads and unloads Ashley Furniture trucks over an established route to deliver merchandise to customers. They report to the Warehouse Distribution Manager.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver and install furniture in customers' homes with care and professionalism
  • Load and unload furniture from the delivery truck, often with assistance
  • Placing items in customer home or business safely with no damage
  • Assemble or disassemble furniture as needed during delivery (using tools, if required)
  • Inspect items for damage before and after delivery, reporting any issues
  • Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions and ensuring satisfaction
  • Obtain customers signature on delivery and pick-up receipts and turn in all paperwork
  • Report any delivery issues and record information on customer signed delivery receipt
  • Complete truck inspection and drivers log each day
  • Maintain the delivery vehicle, keeping it clean and in good working order
  • Document delivery details, such as time, location, and customer confirmation
  • Assist in Warehouse when needed

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work a retail schedule, including some Saturdays and holidays
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience driving a 20 & 26 ft box truck (non-CDL).
  • Ability to lift and maneuver furniture up to 150+ lbs with help
  • Strong teamwork and time management skills
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and efficient route navigation
  • Must pass a drug test and background check
