Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Experienced Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker to join our Delphinus Team in our daily warehouse deliveries and operations. There is an immediate opening for a skilled driver/warehouseman who is familiar with warehouse operations. Warehouse driver/worker responsibilities include pulling inventory, loading and unloading trucks, storing materials, picking, and packing orders. The goal is to increase organization, efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.

LOCATION: San Diego, CA.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
  • Make deliveries on Military bases as needed.
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
  • Verifies material received against Job Material Lists (JML) and procurement file data.
  • Performs receipt inspection and identification of both government and contractor furnished material.
  • When requested by the Warehouse Manager, prepares stored material for shipment to jobsites.
  • Receives excess material and accomplishes disposition for reuse or disposal as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Maintains clean and environmentally controlled storage space and maintains building security.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Complete inventory logs.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Support and participate in Delphinus’s continual improvement programs/training to comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager/Assistant Manager.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven working experience as a warehouse delivery driver/worker.
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Punctual, reliable, and detail oriented.
  • Basic knowledge and use of computer systems, software, and applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Products).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (Approx. 50lbs).
  • Forklift operation certification or ability to obtain same is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to Delphinus Engineering, Inc. MVR Required.
  • High school degree
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain a DBIDS card for Military Base Access.
  • Understanding of Hull Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) work a plus.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and lifting.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

SALARY: $46,000 - $52,000 per year

In determining compensation, various factors will be considered, including but not limited to, educational background; relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, market factors; and geographic location.
