What does a deli manager do?

Your duties as a deli manager depend on the location of your employment. In every deli, your responsibilities include overseeing operations, inspecting food quality and display case presentation, and managing food safety practices and cleaning. You also manage other deli employees, perform on-the-job training, and ensure quality customer service. In a meat department at a grocery store or market, you may be in charge of inventory and food costs. Deli Managers often encounter challenges such as maintaining high food safety standards, managing inventory to prevent waste, and motivating a diverse team during busy periods.
