About this Job Delgado Community College is a dynamic, open-admissions community college providing high-quality education through innovation and excellence in teaching and learning. The College offers a variety of academic and workforce programs through the Associate degree and is committed to nurturing and sustaining an inclusive culture to support student success. Delgado Community College is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to handle the full scope of the plumbing system for the entire college with nearly 1.5 million square feet of property

Join our team of exceptional faculty and staff. Minimum Qualifications One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Three years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing. Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.

Job Duties and Other Information Repairs and modification to all plumbing systems including above and below ground. Performs repairs and preventative maintenance to domestic and commercial hot water heaters and boilers to ensure they are within code and insurance specifications. Installs and repairs plumbing, steam regulators, steam traps, and relief valves.

Assembles various metal and plastic pressure and sewerage piping using threaded joints, soldering techniques, clamps, bonds, and leaded joints. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational - This position may be filled as a Probationary Appointment requiring 12-24 months on probation.
