Position summary:

A Solutions Engineer is a client-focused technical expert and subject matter expert who combines deep technical knowledge with the consulting skills needed to deliver exceptional client experiences. This role requires expertise in data analysis, process mapping, systems configuration, and solution architecture with a strong emphasis on Product Information Management (PIM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), and ecommerce platforms.

Solutions Engineers serve as the primary technical liaison to clients across the full engagement lifecycle. Everything from scoping and pre-sales support to solution design, implementation, and long-term technical strategy. They are recognized experts in the technical disciplines Ntara offers, capable of translating complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders while identifying new opportunities that drive measurable business value. Above all, a successful Solutions Engineer balances technical rigor with the interpersonal skills required to guide clients with confidence and clarity.

Key responsibilities:

Utilization & Project Status

  • Maintain personal billable rate at 75%, balancing project contributions with internal and sales assistance.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate time logging using tools like Jira and Tempo.
  • Communicate with PMs about your workload, status of tasks, and blockers.

Client Engagement & Solution Architecture

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand client workflows, data structures, and business objectives, with a strong emphasis on PIM strategy and integration.
  • Serve as the primary technical consultant and architect for client implementations, particularly around PIM.
  • Guide clients in evaluating and selecting appropriate PIM platforms based on business requirements and future scalability.
  • Support pre-sales activities by contributing to technical scopes, solution design, and platform evaluations focused on PIM capabilities.
  • Gather requirements for system integrations between PIM and other platforms for data ingestion and syndication.

Delivery & Support

  • Collaborate with and delegate work to the Business Analyst and Sr. Business Analyst team members to ensure accurate configuration, data modeling, and deployment of PIM systems.
  • Collaboration with development team members to ensure efficient and accurate integrations.
  • Provide expert-level technical solutions for PIM platforms such as Inriver, Akeneo, and Salsify, helping resolve complex issues and optimize performance.
  • Own client specific technical specification and architecture documentation, especially around data mapping, systems integration and facilitate the creation and upkeep with other Ntara departments.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies in the PIM space and lead internal evaluations to assess applicability and business impact.

Strategic Planning & Innovation

  • Contribute to Ntara's internal standards and methodologies for PIM implementations, helping to streamline future client engagements.
  • Inform and help create strategic roadmaps that align PIM system growth with broader enterprise architecture.
  • Evaluate and score new platforms or tools for internal and client use.

Quality & Change Management

  • Ensure high-quality delivery of PIM-enabled solutions, aligning with client goals, system constraints, and long-term maintainability.
  • Drive change management initiatives by articulating the business case for new PIM workflows or enhancements.
  • Promote process standardization and documentation around workflows, integrations, and data governance in PIM systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Digital Media, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
  • Advanced coursework or certifications in Business Analysis, Systems Architecture, Data Management, or Agile delivery are a plus.

General Experience:

  • PIM experience is a MUST.
  • 3+ years of experience in a solutions engineering, technical consulting, or systems architecture role, preferably within a digital agency or professional services environment.
  • Prior experience in a consulting or agency environment managing multiple concurrent clients and billable work strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical discovery sessions and translating business requirements into scalable solution designs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-system implementations and integrations.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including scoping, platform evaluations, and technical proposal development.
  • Proficiency with project management and time-tracking tools such as Jira and Tempo.
  • Experience drafting technical documentation including architecture specs, field mappings, and integration requirements.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite and client leadership.
  • Experience contributing to or establishing internal delivery standards, methodologies, or reusable frameworks is a plus.





Technical Skills:

  • Deep hands-on experience with one or more PIM platforms such as Inriver, Akeneo, Salsify, or Censhare, including configuration, data modeling, and system integration.
  • 3+ years working on large-scale enterprise digital platforms (PIM, DAM, CMS, ecommerce, or MDM) or other data-heavy applications.
  • Knowledge and experience with complex multi-system application architectures.
  • Strong understanding of API principles as applied to system integration architecture, including hands-on experience with REST APIs.
  • Ability to read and follow logical paths of code (e.g., ASP.NET, Java, JavaScript, VBA) to support integration design, troubleshooting, and collaboration with development teams.
  • Experience with data mapping, system integrations, and API-based data ingestion and syndication workflows.
  • Proven ability to analyze and model large, complex datasets.
  • Familiarity with Azure infrastructure and hosting environments is a plus.
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and implementations is a plus.
  • Ecommerce platform experience, including integrations and deployments, is a plus.
  • CMS platform experience (e.g., Kentico, Optimizely/Episerver, Sitefinity) is a plus.
  • Experience with DAM platforms (e.g., Aprimo, Bynder, Cloudinary, Digizuite) is a plus.
