Essential Job Functions:
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
  • Cuts workpiece, using powered saws and other manual tools.
  • Prepares, lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.
  • Execute high-quality welds with precision and attention to detail.
  • Apply welding techniques across different metals (Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using GMAW, GTAW and FCAW or other welding methods on metals including Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Monel, Aluminum and Cu / Ni in flat, horizontal, overhead or vertical positions)
  • Use various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Maintains equipment and performs basic repairs when needed.
  • Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts material handler if supplies are needed.
  • Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties as required
  • Supports quality requirements, including hydrostatic testing, penetrant testing, visual inspection, and dimensional checks.
  • Adhere to compliance requirements, including welder qualifications and welding procedures.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with QA procedures and the company's training program.
  • Adhere to company Malpractice & Ethics Policies.
  • Cross trains on various positions in the department.
  • Ability to train another employee.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures are followed as stated on posted signs and in Company policy.
  • Self-starter.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the work environment.
  • Ability to maintain production schedule.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.

Qualifications, Skills, and Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma (Preferred) or GED
  • 5-7 years minimum experience required.
  • Proven experience in aluminum welding and other metal welding methods is required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot minor in shop issues.
  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
  • Ability to use weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances.
  • Must be able to identify and measure material using tape measure and calipers.
  • Good motor coordination and manual dexterity
  • Candidates should be familiar with and capable of using hand tools.
  • Mechanical background a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
