SSI is seeking a Modeling Simulation Software Engineer for a role in El Segundo, CA.

As a established modeling and simulation developer, you will contribute expertise in simulation as a member of a fast-paced multidisciplinary mission operations modeling, simulation, and analysis team. Your knowledge and talent will guide the team in assembling and releasing an ever-growing portfolio of space mission operations analysis simulations and trade studies.

Role and Responsibilities include:

  • Be a member of a fast-paced multidisciplinary mission operations modeling, simulation, and analysis team informing the United States Space Force acquisition decision process.
  • Your background and interest in simulation development will be highly valued in developing and testing simulation applications. You'll be integrating mission simulation tools into an automated system-level trade study execution architecture.
  • You will have a strong hand in defining requirements, specifying designs, and implementing an ever-growing portfolio of space mission operations analysis simulations and trade studies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in aerospace, astronautics, mathematics, or physics and five (5) years of experience with:
  • At least one programming language: MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, or C++.
  • Live, virtual, and/or constructive (LVC) simulation techniques and technologies.
  • Simulation development experience with simulation environments such as STK, AFSIM, GMAT, or FreeFlyer.
  • MATLAB and/or Simulink or other simulation scripting languages.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and technical demonstrations.
  • Satellite orbital mechanics & maneuvers, remote sensing, spacecraft launch/command/control, and/or satellite communications.
  • Equivalent experience with airborne systems is applicable to this role.
