Job description

Overview

Modeling and Simulation Analyst:

Bowhead is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Analyst to support the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role, you will leverage advanced modeling and simulation tools to support military analyses, wargames, exercises, and experimentation focused on navigation warfare and GPS-denied environments. Working alongside government personnel and technical teams, you will develop, execute, and analyze simulations that help improve operational planning and mission readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and analyze modeling and simulation (M&S) activities in support of military exercises, wargames, experiments, and operational analyses.
  • Utilize RF modeling and simulation software to model GPS-denied environments, antenna coverage, and power propagation in support of navigation warfare missions.
  • Create and maintain simulation models using tools such as GIANT, GIANT RPM, Builder, Systems Tool Kit (STK), and other M&S applications.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret simulation data to identify operational impacts, evaluate system performance, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Support planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of military exercises, demonstrations, and training events.
  • Ensure simulation models meet technical standards for interoperability, configuration management, verification, validation, and accreditation.
  • Manage simulation architectures, data, and system integration laboratories to ensure reliable and repeatable analyses.
  • Collaborate with government personnel and technical teams to support model development, information exchange, and integration across multiple organizations.
  • Prepare technical reports, briefings, and presentations summarizing analysis results and recommendations.
  • Provide instruction and user support on modeling and simulation tools and participate in live, virtual, and constructive training events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Modeling and Simulation, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience supporting modeling and simulation, military exercises, wargaming, or analytical operations.
  • Experience using modeling and simulation tools to support operational analysis or mission planning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Desired:

  • Prior experience supporting Department of Defense modeling and simulation programs.
  • Experience supporting military exercises, experimentation, or navigation warfare missions.
  • Familiarity with RF propagation, GPS, electronic warfare, or navigation warfare concepts.
  • Experience with GIANT, GIANT RPM, Builder, Systems Tool Kit (STK), or comparable modeling and simulation software.
  • Apprentice Certified Modeling & Simulation Professional (CMSP) certification or equivalent.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
