We value teamwork and collaboration, and this transition allows us to take that commitment to a new level. nSI empowers our customers by supplying products, services, and expertise with powerful, data driven insights that transform defense systems and improve capabilities.

We are pleased to announce the opening for a Senior Missile Defense Space-Based Interceptor (SBI) Analyst, who will join our Engineering Services Division in Huntsville, Alabama and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. Qualified candidates will be part of an exceptional team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Missile Defense Space-Based Interceptor (SBI) Analyst will be providing technical support to the Missile Defense Agency on the MDA Technical, Engineering, Advisory and Management Support (TEAMS)-Next Specialized Engineering Analyses (SEA) contract. The unique, highly qualified SEA Team is critical to ensuring the MDA can rapidly develop and deploy missile defense capabilities to defeat advanced missile threats by aggressively pursuing advanced concepts and technologies for leap-ahead capability in directed energy, hypersonic missile defense, radiation hardened electronics, space-based sensors, and Israeli defense systems. The SEA Team provides comprehensive Missile Defense System test analyses, future Missile Defense System architecture modeling and design, advanced technology analyses, and specialized engineering support to improve the development, testing, and fielding of technical capabilities that are also cybersecure and tamper-proof.

This position will support the MDA Engineering Directorate within the Enterprise Analysis, Assessment, and Verification group. The Analysis division serves as the Agency’s center of excellence for Missile Defense System test event analysis, providing senior leadership with accurate, high‑quality, and timely assessments of system performance. The selected candidate will contribute to rigorous analytical products related to Space‑Based Interceptor (SBI) efforts, informing critical engineering decisions and supporting future testing that will guide the SBI’s continued development.

Duties include:

  • Supporting all aspects of MDA testing (particularly flight testing) through proactive communication and close coordination with internal and external partners
  • Contributing to the design, planning, and execution of missile defense flight tests, including development of test objectives and assessment requirements
  • Participating in MDA Joint Analysis Team (JAT) activities, integrating multi‑disciplinary analysis to support informed decision‑making
  • Applying knowledge of missile defense test resources, range operations, and procedures (e.g., frequency spectrum allocation, range safety)
  • Providing clear, actionable test requirements to contractors supporting flight test activities
  • Establishing and communicating Go/No‑Go criteria for flight testing
  • Developing analytical tools related to test objectives, flyouts, delta‑v calculations, predicted intercept points, and similar mission‑planning elements
  • Traveling as required to support test planning, execution, and analysis activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position is open only to US Citizens.
  • You must have 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects or industry equivalent.
  • You must have a Master of Science or Master of Arts degree.
    • Note: The Government will consider a BA/BS from an accredited institution of higher learning in a related field with 20+ years of experience in lieu of the MA/MS degree requirement
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Must be capable of working independently and/or leading teams to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Must be able to provide daily supervision and direction to support teams
  • You must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
