Job description

Join our Loan Servicing Team as a Default Specialist and play an important role in helping Waukesha State Bank's mortgage customers navigate challenging financial circumstances.

In this position, you'll work directly with customers who are delinquent or at risk of becoming delinquent, providing knowledgeable, compassionate guidance and helping them identify the best path forward. Whether the goal is to help a customer remain in their home through a retention or loss mitigation option or navigate the appropriate disposition of a property, you'll be there to guide them through the process.

This position manages a wide range of mortgage default activities, including collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy and REO processes. You'll work closely with customers, attorneys, investors, insurers and internal departments while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, investor guidelines and bank procedures. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate loan and customer records, completing investor and regulatory reporting, processing claims, reconciling accounts and assisting with audits and examinations.

We're looking for an experienced mortgage or banking professional who brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers. A minimum of five years of mortgage or banking experience is required, with at least two years of experience in collections, investor reporting or default servicing strongly preferred.
