GPI is seeking a Survey Project Manager in our Columbia, MD office to work on projects in various locations throughout Maryland and Delaware. GPI offers opportunities for advancement and is looking for a qualified candidate to manage our Boundary Survey projects. The qualified candidate will be supported with resources, capacity, and personnel from the Columbia, MD, GPI Branch office.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform deed research
  • Produce mosaics for field crews
  • Process field survey data in CADD to resolve boundary surveys
  • CADD drafting and preparation of deed descriptions
  • Make site visits to walk the final boundary determinations
  • Create survey reports to review with the Director of Surveys
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, topographic maps, and real property descriptions
  • Projects may include the use of hand tools, including a bush axe, machete, or sledgehammer
  • Occasionally travel out of town for up to one week at a time
  • Project management and follow-through of tasks
  • Good communication skills across the GPI Department and Branches
  • Proposal preparation and proposal development

Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree or a Bachelor's degree in a related field will be considered in lieu of experience
  • Project management and scheduling experience
  • Proposal preparation experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry
  • Experience in field surveying practices and procedures
  • Experience in drafting and reproduction methods
  • Experience in land recording and conveyance procedures
  • Background check and drug testing will be required for projects on Federal facilities
