About the Role

The Unit Manager-Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at CarDon and Associates plays a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care within the assigned unit. This position is responsible for managing nursing associates and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The Unit Manager acts as a clinical leader, providing guidance and support to nursing associates while fostering a collaborative and compassionate care environment. They are instrumental in implementing resident-centered care plans, with a focus on wound care management and resident education to promote optimal health outcomes. Ultimately, this role ensures that all residents receive safe, effective, and respectful care, contributing to the overall mission of CarDon and Associates.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the nursing associates to ensure efficient and effective resident care.
  • Assess resident needs and develop individualized care plans, with particular attention to wound care management and resident education.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with nursing standards, healthcare regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Provide direct resident care as needed, including administering medications, treatments, and wound care procedures.
  • Facilitate communication between residents, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Conduct associate training, performance evaluations, and support professional development initiatives.
  • Manage documentation and reporting to ensure accuracy and confidentiality in resident records.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid Nursing License (LPN) in the state of Indiana.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate with residents and associates.
  • Ability to provide resident education tailored to individual needs.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage unit operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or unit management role within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in long-term care or rehabilitation facilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
