About the Role:
A Cashier is responsible for processing cash, debit, credit and check transactions using the cash register. Duties include balancing the cash register, making change, recording purchases, processing returns and scanning items for sale. Cashier’s duties are performed primarily in the front of the store at the registers. A Cashier may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work includes walking, standing, lifting, moving, carrying and stocking product, along with interaction with customers, associates, truck drivers, and vendors.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Counting the money in the drawers at the beginning of every shift and ensuring there is adequate change.
  • Greeting customers and answering questions.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly checkout area.
  • Identifying the prices of goods and calculating bills.
  • Receiving payment by credit card, debit card, cash, check, vouchers, or automatic debits.
  • Issuing change, credit, and refunds.
  • Issuing receipts and coupons.
  • Keeping drawer currency sorted, wrapped, and organized.

  • Base Salary: $19.50 hr
