The Compensation:ย The range for this role is $60,000 to $80,000 per year. This range includes a base plus performance-based bonuses, which is just one part of our total rewards package (additionally includes competitive benefits).

The Opportunity: Parts Manager

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Parts Manager to lead the operations of our Honda dealershipโ€™s parts department. This role is responsible for managing inventory, maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring timely parts availability for both service technicians and retail customers, and driving departmental profitability. An ideal candidate has prior automotive parts management experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Success in this position requires a proactive approach to inventory control, team development, and supporting the dealershipโ€™s overall sales and service goals.

The Primaryย Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all daily operations of the Parts Department, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate inventory management, and exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain optimal parts inventory levels by monitoring stock, ordering Honda OEM parts, managing returns, and minimizing obsolescence.
  • Support the Service Department by ensuring technicians have timely access to the parts needed to complete repairs and maintenance efficiently.
  • Hire, train, schedule, lead and develop parts department staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer satisfaction. Monitors performance and completes counseling and coaching as necessary to improve performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Honda representatives, suppliers, and vendors to secure product availability and maximize department performance.
  • Monitor department financial performance, including sales, gross profit, expenses, and inventory turns, while implementing strategies to achieve profitability goals.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting retail and wholesale customers, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive dealership experience.
  • Ensures all parts department staff members meet and maintain minimum factory training requirements as set forth our manufactures.
  • Manages Loaner Vehicle Program.ย 

Qualifications We're Seeking:

  • 3+ years of automotive parts management experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior Honda dealership or other franchised automotive environment experience preferred, with a proven record of inventory control, departmental profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing parts department personnel, with the ability to motivate and develop teams, establish performance expectations, and drive results.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of prioritizing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced dealership environment.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities with retail customers, wholesale accounts, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Strong knowledge of Honda OEM parts operations, Dealertrack dealership management system (DMS), and inventory management practices, including forecasting, ordering, returns, and obsolescence control.
  • Thorough understanding of automotive parts cataloging systems, warranty processes, and dealership fixed operations.
  • Strong inventory management and forecasting skills, with the ability to maintain appropriate stock levels while controlling costs.
  • Proven financial acumen, including the ability to analyze departmental performance metrics, gross profit, inventory turns, and expense controls.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to resolve issues professionally and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and parts ordering platforms, along with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license for occasional travel required. ย
