Job description

Ford Square of Mt. Vernon is seeking an experienced Parts Manager with a proven background in automotive dealership parts operations. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands dealership processes, inventory control, retail and wholesale parts sales, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

The Parts Manager will oversee all daily operations of the Parts Department, ensuring efficient workflow, accurate inventory management, strong team leadership, and seamless support of the service and sales departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage day-to-day operations of the Parts Department

  • Oversee retail, wholesale, and internal parts sales processes from start to finish

  • Order, receive, stock, and maintain accurate inventory levels

  • Source and procure parts not currently in stock

  • Manage special-order parts and provide timely updates to customers and staff

  • Support service technicians and advisors with accurate parts identification and timely fulfillment

  • Conduct inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and minimize shrinkage

  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer guidelines, and industry regulations

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and promptly resolve concerns

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise parts department personnel

  • Set department goals, manage budgets, and implement growth strategies

  • Develop and maintain wholesale parts accounts to increase revenue

  • Serve as liaison with manufacturer representatives and stay current on policy and warranty updates

  • Enforce all company safety standards and operational procedures

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Previous automotive dealership experience required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a dealership parts and/or service department

  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, inventory systems, and dealership operations

  • Experience with dealership parts management and inventory software

  • Retail and wholesale parts experience preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management ability

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and customer service abilities

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dealership environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
