SummaryCraps & Blackjack Dealer School

WarHorse Gaming Lincoln, LLC, a division of Ho-Chunk, Inc.

Location: Lincoln, NEJob Type: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 3:00PM - 11:30PM during Dealer Training.

After training, shifts will be assigned based on property needs (either 12:00PM - 8:00PM or 8:00PM - 4:00AM) once you have successfully passed your audition.

Start Time: August 21st (Orientation needs to be completed before this date)

*We will have another school starting October 1st M-F 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Position Summary

The Table Games Dealer School program provides comprehensive training in Blackjack & Craps, to prepare participants for a career as a Table Games Dealer at WarHorse Gaming. This 6-8 week program runs Monday through Friday, 3:00PM - 11:30PM. Upon successful completion of training and passing an audition, graduates may transition into a dealer role, delivering a superior gaming experience in a friendly, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and demonstrate proficiency in dealing Blackjack and Craps at company-established speeds.

  • Deliver courteous, professional service to all guests and team members.

  • Shuffle cards thoroughly and manage game pace in compliance with casino standards.

  • Accurately pay and collect winning and losing wagers according to company policy.

  • Verify and sign fills, credits, and related documentation.

  • Communicate relevant game information to relieving dealers and supervisors.

  • Issue chips to customers in accordance with company procedures.

  • Maintain control and visual contact of cards, dice, shoe, and float.

  • Report irregularities, including suspicious guest activity, to the Floor Supervisor.

  • Adjust game pace according to player ability to ensure efficient play.

  • Accept cash buy-ins and conduct drops per company policy.

  • Comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and gaming regulations.

  • Adhere to Nebraska rules, regulations, and Internal Controls.

  • Support company initiatives on responsible gaming, including prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.

  • Maintain schedule flexibility based on business needs.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong guest service focus with safety as a priority

  • Ability to demonstrate dealer skills through an audition

  • Proficiency in basic math

  • Ability to differentiate cheque colors and values

  • Knowledge of company internal controls and table game regulations

  • Commitment to ethical conduct and guest service excellence

Preferred:

  • Previous dealing experience in Blackjack or Carnival games

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to secondhand smoke

  • Prolonged standing and repetitive hand/finger movements

  • Physical mobility, agility, balance, and coordination required

  • Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs.

  • Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

  • Regular verbal communication with guests and team members

Schedule

Dealer School runs Monday-Friday, 3:00PM - 11:30PM.ย After graduation, schedules vary based on property needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.ย
