Summary Description: Reporting to the DC Assistant Manager, the Distribution Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and direction for Distribution Center employees, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role is responsible for leading people doing the work by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback in the moment, reinforcing operational standards, and fostering a collaborative, service-oriented work environment.
The Distribution Supervisor delivers results through the performance of the team by assigning and balancing work, monitoring workflow, removing barriers to execution, resolving operational issues, and escalating concerns when appropriate. This position partners closely with the DC Assistant Manager and Distribution Center Manager to ensure team execution aligns with business priorities while developing employee capability through ongoing coaching, communication, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and support Distribution Center employees by providing clear direction, daily work assignments, and ongoing coaching.
  • Ensure team members understand their responsibilities, performance expectations, and operational standards.
  • Coach employees in the moment to reinforce performance, service, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Hold team members accountable for attendance, productivity, quality, and adherence to company policies.
  • Provide timely coaching, recognition, and constructive feedback while addressing performance concerns promptly and consistently.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of employees by identifying growth opportunities and encouraging continuous learning and skill development.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive work environment aligned with Christy Sports' Values.
  • Celebrate individual and team accomplishments to reinforce engagement and a high-performance culture.

Operational Execution
  • Assign and balance daily workloads to ensure efficient execution of operational priorities.
  • Monitor workflow throughout the shift and adjust assignments based on business needs.
  • Ensure merchandise is received, processed, labeled, staged, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor productivity and work quality while removing obstacles that impact team performance.
  • Address operational issues that impact service, productivity, quality, or safety by resolving them directly or escalating when appropriate.
  • Ensure team execution meets established productivity, quality, safety and service expectations.

Safety & Compliance
  • Reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
  • Address unsafe behaviors and working conditions immediately.
  • Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Reinforce a culture where safety is a shared responsibility and employees are empowered to identify and report hazards.

Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate operational priorities, expectations, and updates to the team.
  • Partner with the DC Assistant Manager, DC Manager, and cross-functional partners to resolve operational issues.
  • Escalate issues affecting service, productivity, safety, or employee relations in a timely manner.
  • Communicate operational priorities, process changes, and company initiatives clearly while reinforcing consistent execution across the team.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Leadership & Interpersonal
  • Previous experience supervising, leading, or coaching employees in a warehouse, distribution, retail, or operations environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach employees, provide constructive feedback, and hold team members accountable.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and foster collaboration across the team.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Must have good customer service skills.

Operational
  • Experience in warehouse, distribution, shipping, and receiving operations preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to operate a truck (below CDL requirements).
  • Must have a valid operator's license and be able to obtain an approved driving background review.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to regularly lift a minimum of 50 pounds individually.
  • Heavy lifting of items in excess of 200 pounds with group assistance.
  • Must be able to regularly bend and/or kneel.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.

General Requirements
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
